I can't load it on my android. It says it's compatible, but also says it is already installed. Unfortunately I can't find the EchoLink ICON nor can I find it in my installed apps. Apparently there is a JAVA code error on the WEB site that if a load fails, it simply says it's already installed, you can't delete something that's not there so that it can be restarted.

OK, so here's an update, after contacting EchoLink support and trying multiple times, I was successful in downloading the software and now I'm a happy camper. Don't understand what changed, but this made me very happy. Excellent app, created by volunteers in the true spirit of Amateur Radio.

Works well on my Nexus 6 using T-Mobile data or wireless home network. There is no need to forward ports in your firewall if you use the default 'relay' connection - it just works! Another advantage of the app over the PC version is much better transmit audio level control, thanks to your smartphone's built in audio gain management. One thing to watch is connectivity will drop if you switch between mobile data and home wireless while connected, so if you are not going to stay within range of your home wireless network, simply turn off wireless and use mobile data. Only problem is, I can't get it to work with my bluetooth headset on my S3. I can use handset audio or speaker audio but not the blutooth headset. It would be 5 stars if I could get that to work. Edit: I now have a Galaxy S4 and the new bluetooth option doesn't work right. A great app if the bluetooth would work right. Works great on all my Androids except for the Kindle Fire 7 5th Gen.

Doesn't want to connect with hardly anything without using a public proxy on the Fire. Even then it disconnects and reconnects to different proxies. I hope to find a solution but have plenty of other Android devices to use. I plan on dedicating one to Echolink transceiver use. A lot of hams consider it as 'cheating' because of no radio use. The way I look at it is the internet was started by hams, not Al Gore, and now it has come full circle. It is just another mode of operation.

When it does restart it messes up audio routing for instance on a phone call with headphones all of a sudden you will have your caller on speakerphone and everyone can hear them. Message on the screen will indicate something like echolink proxy connected or some crud.
