Gardenmate Two Dial Automatic Tap Timer Manual

Gardenmate Two Dial Automatic Tap Timer Manual

Hi, I have bought several electronic tap timers for my small garden through bunnings. Originally i bought one with just 1 outlet but decided that wasn't enough so i went out and bought a dual outlet electronic timer.

I think they have been good value for money and they have been running for nearly about a year now. They are fairly simple to use with good instructions on how to program the watering schedule. You would need to look at the complexities of your watering schdule. If they are simple like mine were (fairly basic with watering to be completed for a duration of 30 minutes every 2 days) then these devices should be fine. The more expensive automatic timers $100+ i would imagine would be able to cater for more complex schedules.

I went with the Holman brand of electronic tap timers and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. I have no experience with the gardenmate.

Bad news if it fails. I got a cheap one that came from Woolworths. Came home one day and there was water running out into the street, the thing had split in half and water was shooting out at full throttle. Those 'two dial' timers are easy to set. However, sometimes there can be water restrictions that might only allow watering on certain days of the week, and the 'two dial' timers that I have seen can't be set to do that. Some other timers can be set to only water on certain days of the week, but at the expense of being more complicated to program.

I recently set up a basic irrigation system for our small patch and it has done wonders. I used a $30ish kit from Bunnings and the 'Aqua Systems Two Dial Electronic Tap Timer' you linked to. I've bought one of these. It works ok and is really easy to set up for regular watering, but the annoying thing about it is that you can't just tell it to water for say one hour from NOW. If you want it to turn on and off automatically, you need to select a Frequency, then if you select say 7 days, then it won't start until 7 days LATER! If you want to start NOW, then you can turn it on manually, but then you must remember to turn it OFF MANUALLY too! The problem is that the manual ON OFF is on the DURATION dial not the Frequency one. Code 37 Seizoen 3 Utorrent.

EDIT – according to the Holman website (in the FAQ asking about valve type) they manufacture the Aqua Systems brand too for Bunnings. It seems identical to their old CO1701. I went with the Holman brand of electronic tap timers and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. I've been through a few Holmans over the past 5 years – first one, C01905, the plastic cracked after a couple of years, another C01905 failed electronically after a couple of years, and the third, a CO1801, cracked the ring holding it to the tap.

Instead Bunnings has the C01605 with an LCD display and buttons. At the moment, I'm looking at the Orbit 96013 LCD one at Masters for $49 – about $10 more than the Holman C01605, but this comes with a plastic covered brass tap connector, and a 3 year warranty instead of a 1 year one.
